It starts in Holland with the first known progenitor of the family name and ends with Austin Marinus Voorhees, a native of Mayfield, Sanpete, Utah born May 27, 1894, died August 26, 1960. The surname Voorhees was not used by the family until after the British occupation of New Holland in 1673. This happen 13 years after a Dutchman named Steven Coerte arrived in the new world. The earlist direct line male found using verifiable information is Albert of Hees, Drenthe, Netherlands. He was the garndfather of Steven Corte.
